Nestled in a serene valley, our charming spa town is bordered by the picturesque Orb River and surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Haut Languedoc National Park .

Our bustling town centre hosts a variety of activities and events year-round. Explore the vibrant twice-weekly market, boutiques, restaurants and bars, and catch a show at the theatre and cinema. You can also enjoy the convenience of a large supermarket nearby. The town and its surrounding villages accommodate a wide range of sports and activities for all interests.

With excellent road links, you can easily reach Béziers and the coast in just 45 minutes by car, or Montpellier and Carcassonne in about 90 minutes. Local buses and a nearby train station in Bédarieux provide convenient travel options.

Things to do & see

  • In the town we have a large outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, petanque square, a 9 hole golf course, riding stables, and bike hire (both manual and electric). There is also a gym beside the old railway station.

  • Carcassonne, St Guilhelm Le Desert, Olargues, Roquebrun, Millau Bridge, Roquefort - just a few of our favourite places to visit. Our house book gives information on a variety of excursions, both close by or ‘there and back in a day’ to suit your time and energy levels. Prefer not to drive? We also supply a list of tour operators in the area who offer a wide range of accompanied visits.

  • Languedoc is rightly proud of its reputation as a producer of excellent wines. From the sweet dessert wines of Rivesaltes and St Jean de Minervois to the rich reds of St Chinian and Faugeres, and everything in between - each month our blog gives you the lowdown on the ones we love!

    Eating cheese, fruit and seafood from the region itself is an amazing experience, each season bring its own delights. Our house book introduces you to some of our favourite restaurants - there are suggestions to match your budget or the occasion.

  • Cycling, hiking, kayaking, caving, treetop adventures… we think we have something in the area to suit all levels of energy. The old steam train route from Bedarieux to Mazamet has been converted to the Voie Verte Passe, a 80km path for walking and cycling. The old stations along the route provide parking. You can start your adventure from the old Lamalou Station

  • You'll have access to over 200 TV and Film channels, as well as your choice from our DVD, CD and book collection to help you relax. There are also a selection of toys, games, DVDs and books for the little ones.

  • The broad beach at Valras is perfect for children year round. Sigean African Reserve is a great opportunity to see African animals in their native habitats. Close by are the Gorge D’Heric , forests and hill climbing. Abracadabranche is a great place for tree top fun for any age. Towards Beziers there are trampoline parks, with softplay centres for the little ones.
